Leneco Signs MOU with Samsung Electronics
on
Home Network Appliances
Home network system provider Leneco said it had signed a
MOU with Samsung Electronics for the sales of digital household
appliances linked to its home network system.
Leneco will supply Samsung's digital home appliances compatible
with its home network system LeNeT to households in apartment
complexes and will be responsible for the marketing policy,
installation and operation of the system for the residents
using the service. The company will be the first one to provide
Samsung's digital products connected to a home network system.
Residents moving into a LeNeT-installed house can choose the
specific items they want to use with the home network system.
So far, home network systems have been focused on security
functions such as door and gas control, and control of household
appliances from outside. However, it will be increasingly
necessary to link a wider range of household items to a home
network system beyond security and outdoor control features
in order to improve the living environment.
"Even if a resident wants to link their network products
to a home network system installed in their home, they may
not function properly if the protocols are not compatible.
And consumers should actually buy the products and check by
themselves if the protocols are matching," a Leneco official
said.
"We make sure that our system is compatible with the
digital products to be used in advance and insert graphic
user interface (GUI) for digital products into the home server.
So, consumers will find it easy-to-use" he explained.
The business alliance with Samsung is expected to boost sales
of home network business, and we plan to develop a wider range
of contents that can fit the needs and the taste of consumers,"
he added.
Leneco supplies its home network system LeNeT to apartment
complexes built by its largest shareholder Dong Moon Construction
Company in various areas including Paju, Guri, Hwasung, Suji
and Ulsan.
